Éole — Étang de Leucate / Bassin des Dins d'Illes — Le Barcarès. First fallback spot when Leucate is too strong. Located at the east of the bassin, facing UCPA buildings. Tramontane is a few knots less than at the Goulet — perfect for riders without tiny sails.
By Tramontane NW: flat water in the sheltered cove, opens onto the grand bassin with formed chop for jumping. Ultra-safe by Tramontane — wind pushes towards water. By Marin/SE: side-on, choppier — move to Parc des Dosses or Téléski for flat. Excellent freestyle spot — many pro riders train here.
No algae even in summer. Deep water immediately. View of Canigou massif. Route du littoral between Leucate and Perpignan, at the start of the dual carriageway (UCPA flags visible).
UCPA Base Éole — Main UCPA windsurf/kite base at Barcarès. Courses for all levels, beginners to freestyle. Moniteurs lead students by boat to dedicated zones. Groups of max 4 with one kite each. Duotone Pro Center nearby. WCC restaurant on spot.
Étang water. Flat in sheltered cove by Tramontane NW. Opens onto grand bassin — formed chop for jumping (better starboard tack). By S/SE: choppier, move to Dosses/Téléski for flat. No algae. Deep immediately — waterstart needed. Sandy/muddy bottom.

Year-round. UCPA base open seasonally. 280+ days of wind/year. Best: Tramontane season (autumn-spring). Summer thermals also work. Sheltered cove for beginners, grand bassin for advanced.
Parking near UCPA base at start of dual carriageway. Vegetation for wind shelter to rig. Small cove for easy water access. WCC restaurant on spot.
Tramontane gusty: less strong than at Leucate but can still be gusty. When it picks up: good chop for jumping on both tacks (especially starboard). Crowded: popular freestyle spot, watch out for riders landing tricks at the waterstart zone. Deep water immediately: waterstart needed, no standing zone.
Tramontane (NW/NNW): main wind but a few knots LESS than Leucate. First fallback when Leucate blows too hard. Riders in 3.7 at Goulet → come here with 4.2 or 4.7. Side-on by Tramontane, creates nice chop in grand bassin. Marin/SE: side-on, choppier. Canigou backdrop magnificent. Freestyle paradise — flat cove + chop bassin. Pro riders train here regularly.
