Overview

La Faute-sur-Mer is a kitesurf spot at the mouth of the Lay river on the Vendée coast. The sheltered position gives flat water in northeast and east winds inside the bay, while the ocean beach works in southwest to northwest wind. Strong tidal currents at the river mouth — intermediate level required with good local knowledge.
