Berneval-sur-Mer is a kitesurf and windsurf spot on Normandy's Alabaster Coast, northeast of Dieppe (about 10 km). A marked kite zone is established here. The spot works mainly from west for waves, and powerfully from NE. Low tide is strongly preferred: at high tide, shore break on pebbles, disturbed wind, and strong currents make conditions difficult and potentially dangerous.
The site is known for a particular feature: with NE wind (offshore direction elsewhere on the coast), the wind blows notably strong on this spot — a quirk of its coastal orientation. Intermediate level spot; fishermen cohabit with riders — always check for lines at low tide.

Two main working directions: West (waves, side-onshore port) and NE (powerful, often stronger than forecast — a local anomaly of this section of coast). All other directions with a southerly component are offshore — forbidden to practice. Low tide only: at high tide, conditions are difficult and dangerous (shore break, currents, disturbed wind). Kite zone active: mandatory to stay within it.
A kite zone is set up and signposted at the spot entrance — mandatory to respect it or risk losing kite access. At high tide: shore break on pebbles, wind disturbed near the shore, strong current — avoid. At low tide with large coefficients: bouchots (mussel farms) and rocks emerge — watch out. Beware of numerous fishermen and their lines at low tide. NE wind can be strong, often more than forecast.
