Overview

Mont-Saint-Michel is a kitesurf spot in the Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche/Ille-et-Vilaine border), with the iconic UNESCO World Heritage abbey as a backdrop. The bay has one of the highest tidal ranges in Europe, exposing vast flat sand and mud flats at low tide. The dominant wind is North-West, sweeping across the open bay.

The enormous tidal range is critical — the sea returns very quickly and can be dangerous. Never ride alone and always check tide times carefully. An absolutely spectacular setting for kitesurfing, visible from the Mont. Note that access to certain areas of the bay may be restricted.
