Saint-Brévin l'Océan is a kitesurf spot on the Atlantic coast of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, on the west-facing ocean beach. Dominant southwest to northwest winds with moderate swell. Intermediate level. The nearby Loire estuary mouth creates tidal current awareness needs.
Access from Saint-Brévin via the D213. The Saint-Nazaire bridge is visible to the north — maritime and river traffic is active in the estuary. Best sessions at mid to low tide when the beach is widest. The estuary currents are significant on spring tides — plan accordingly.
Atlantic coast at the Loire estuary south bank. Moderate Atlantic swell dampened by the estuary geometry. Tidal currents from the Loire. Sandy beach. Significant tidal range — beach width varies considerably. The proximity of the Saint-Nazaire bridge means maritime traffic must be monitored.

Open all year round
Open year-round. Best season: May to October. Southwest and west winds most reliable. Closest ocean kite spot to Nantes — popular local spot.
Southwest to northwest dominant winds. The Atlantic sea breeze builds reliably in summer afternoons. The estuary orientation can create localised wind funnel effects. West and southwest are the cleanest angles at this beach orientation.
