Biscarrosse-Plage South is the official kitesurf spot on the ocean coast of Biscarrosse, at the southern end of the beach. Navigation is only authorised south of the signage — this is not a reserved zone so maximum vigilance is required. The beach to the south is a military zone (marked by large posts) — strictly off-limits. Excellent north thermal wind in summer with rideable waves. FFVL-labelled spot.
From Biscarrosse town, head for Biscarrosse-Plage then follow signs for Plage Sud. Launch and ride only in the zone south of the official signage. Do not enter the military zone to the south under any circumstances. North thermal wind is ideal — builds from early afternoon. Self-organised spot.

Open all year round
Open year-round. Best season: May to October. North thermal wind most consistent June to September. Military zone adjacent — access restrictions permanent and non-negotiable.
From Biscarrosse town, follow directions to Biscarrosse-Plage, then follow Plage Sud signs. Parking at the southern beach car park.
The north thermal wind is the star here — pure, reliable, building from noon to 6pm at 15 to 25 knots in summer. It arrives straight onshore from the north, perfectly aligned with the beach. South wind also possible but more variable. West and northwest onshore winds generate powerful Atlantic swell — ideal for wave riding but demanding.
