Kervel is the reference kitesurf spot on the southern shore of the Baie de Douarnenez, on the commune of Plonévez-Porzay. A wide sandy beach facing northwest, it is the home of the Grand Prix Guyader and the main teaching spot for Kitesardin school. Ideal for beginners and lessons in NW to N wind, with stunning views over Douarnenez.
Wind can be irregular in pure North. In SW and N wind, waves form if W/NW swell is running — cleaner than Pentrez. In W wind, pure freeride spot. In summer, beach is busy with campers from the nearby Campéole Trezmalaouen campsite.

Baie de Douarnenez water — approximately 10km of fetch. Shallow water close to shore, ideal for beginners. In SW/N with W swell: accessible, clean waves, better shaped than Pentrez.
