The wide bay of the Anse de Dinan (Goulien / Kersiguenou / Kerloc'h) is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Crozon peninsula. Three adjoining beaches, choose your parking according to wind direction and swell.
Outstanding wave spot from late October to late January when Atlantic depressions hit the tip of Finistère. Waves are not extremely hollow or powerful but can reach 4–5m in the biggest storms. The rest of the year the bay is calmer — freeride and freestyle oriented.
Two very different wind scenarios:
Preferred kitesurf spot of the Crozon peninsula according to Kitesardin school.
Kitesardin School (Philippe Abgrall) — mentions Goulien as the favourite kitesurf spot of the Crozon peninsula. WestGliss (Ronan Eveno) — also uses Crozon peninsula spots. Surf school at Goulien beach.
3 car parks: Goulien (south), Kersiguenou (centre), Kerloc'h (north) — choose according to wind direction and where surfers are. Mid to high tide for the best waves (surf is mainly on the left near the cliff at Goulien). Foiling in summer affected by red algae — plan the first 100m carefully. Autumn/winter sessions: wind can gust violently in a few minutes during squall weather.
Beach break taking W swells full-on. Best waves at mid to rising tide. At low tide, several reef/rock bands appear at Kersiguenou — strong currents can drift you north or south depending on tide. At high tide: violent shorebreak. Summer: red algae heavy throughout the bay, especially in the southern section.

Open all year round
Wave spot for experienced riders — waves can reach 4–5m in the biggest winter storms. Share with surfers, SUP, bodyboarders (especially in summer). Shorebreak at high tide. In summer: numerous red algae make foiling very difficult (first 100m nearly impossible). Strong current at Kersiguenou can drift towards Kerloc'h or Goulien depending on tide. Avoid parking on fragile dune vegetation.
Two key scenarios: W/SW/NW is onshore or side-onshore in swell — powerful wave conditions; NE/ENE is side-offshore (starboard tack) — the best wind for wave kiting, cleaning up the swell and delivering well-shaped waves. NE is irregular but when it's on, the Goulien delivers exceptional sessions. Avoid W wind in big swell (too onshore). N, S and SE are very gusty — not recommended.
