The narrow beach where we set up the kites is downwind from the parking lot (with N-W winds). It is therefore recommended to walk a few meters into the water to launch safely. The "beach" on the edge of the lagoon is not very wide, becoming narrow or even non-existent when water levels are high. It is recommended to launch in the water (by walking into the lagoon to move away from the parking lot). Do not navigate between the small island directly in front of the parking lot and the shore to keep the launching and landing area clear.
The local club: http://www.inkiwi.fr/ We ask the entire kitesurfing community who seek to practice in wild areas to respect these species during breeding periods by avoiding navigating near these sites, which can be visualized on the map below. Kitesurfing, either at sea or on the Ingril lagoon, poses no problem regarding sensitive protected species. The Conservatory of Natural Spaces of Languedoc Roussillon FFVL certified spot
Spot functioning
Via the RD 60 from Frontignan city center towards Frontignan Beach or from Vic la Guardiole towards Frontignan Beach crossing the Aresquiers bridge. The advantage of parking at the spot is a constant DANGER (with N-W winds) when launching and landing the kite.
Required level
Beginner
Spot opening date
Ouvert toute l'année
Parking
70 parking spaces available directly in front of the spot.
Hazards
The shallow water depth in the launching area, some poles and small islands, the sandbank on the west side towards the "small beach". Do not navigate along the road. When the wind picks up, windsurfers are numerous, even very numerous on the spot. You will easily spot the "capetchades" (fixed nets planted in the bottom) to avoid them. Upon arrival, observe the lagoon to identify the presence of fishermen setting up (placing small floating nets that are much less visible) to choose your navigation area.
Wind specificities
The most favorable wind remains the North West. Don't miss the rare sessions with South West winds (the Labetch or Narbonnais). No interest in South East winds which don't work well, better go navigate at sea, towards Gachon for example.
